WHY A REPUBLIC?

IT’S  THE  ECONOMY!    WHERE’S  THE  MONEY?

Ludwig Von Mises describes the drastic effect of socialist governments on economies in his book, Socialism.  One of his most famous quotations states, “Everything brought forward in favor of socialism during the last hundred years, in thousands of writings and speeches, all the blood which has been spilt by the supporters of socialism, cannot make socialism workable.  Nothing has shaken the proof that, under socialism, economic calculation is impossible.”

So where’s the money? In a country with such vast resource wealth, how could such a financial disaster occur? The Republicans have outlined the root cause as the parliamentary system of government that gave rise to Marxist-Socialism!

Canada’s governments have been operating in the market place all these years, the same as communist countries do, to provide goods and services to the people by the use of bureaucrats. They have done this through the Crown Corporations and subsidized monopolies. Our money, countless billions of it, is buried deep in these government controlled companies.

In a Republic, Crown corporations cannot exist because legislation would not permit government controlling the market place.  Therefore all that capital that rightly belongs to the Canadian people will be claimed when the crown corporations are sold off and the crown lands are turned over by the Crown to the new Congress of the people.

A Republic - Of, By and For the People

In the illustration of the two horses, the example is very clear!  The American governments never operated in the market place with the people’s money.  They never operated an airline, liquor store, a broadcast network, a railway, an oil company etc. etc.

You will ask the question, "How will you pay down the debt if you form a Constitutional Republic in Canada?  Although this is an enormous topic, the simple answer is explained here.

What do we do with all those unionized civil servants, including all the crown corporation employees?  They would have to find jobs in the new exploding market place.  They become a "two-for-one" deal.  Every civil servant who is turfed into the work force will help to push instead of being a drag on the economy.  Instead of making their living off government, they would become part of the work force contributing to the economy.  Therefore the seed money to get the new Republic on its way is laying in the Crown controlled corporations and the Crown lands.

It is difficult to estimate an approximate figure but it is an enormous amount of capital, in the mega billions.  This is the seed money that will give the new administration the funding to clear the debt.  It instantly stops the existing drain on the economy that is fed into the crown corporations.  As a new republic is formed, based on capitalism, the very Marxist legislation that caused the bankruptcy would end.  Present Marxist legislation that gives power to the unions to destroy our productivity would end.  Also the burgeoning civil service would no longer be unionized.  Its control and outrageous rape of the Nations' income would end.  Legislation is necessary to place limits on the "size of government ratio to population: at a fixed percentage of the general population, I suggest 3% and no more.  This should be stitched right into the new constitution making it permanent.

It’s a recognized fact that when income taxes are reduced, the economy grows.  This is even ancient history.  Canada has been trying to tax its way into prosperity for 100 years.  End income taxes and the economy booms.  We should go to a national consumption tax for goods only, not services.

No political party in Canada has the answer to the economy.  It cannot be fixed within the existing parliamentary system.
