WHY A REPUBLIC?

TRADE UNIONS

Karl Marx could see no other purpose for the trade unions than to destroy the capitalist base of society.

There are two distinct branches of unionism.  The first is to destroy the productive sector. That is the very basis of Marxism. “all productivity is evil”, therefore all methods that produce product must be destroyed!  Why would anyone think productivity is evil?  The answer is because productivity is competitive to the goals of socialism which provides complete government control.

The second is to control all essential services and vital transport systems to render them as dysfunctional as possible.

These two branches work hand in hand in all socialist states.

Without efficient essential services, the productive sector cannot function properly.

Another difference between these two union divisions is that the productive sector unions can be controlled or removed by  decertification.

The Transport unions wield a power before which the world trembles!  They can bring any society or country to it’s knees.

Socialist countries achieve dictatorship status by crippling the productive sector.

Marx and Engles could see no difference between communism and socialism.  The terms were used interchangeably by them.

As the socialist state deteriorates, all the people must eventually become dependent on the state for everything in life. That is the ultimate goal of the socialist state.

Canada today is a totally unionized socialist state!  Vast areas of resource in Canada remain idle because of the power of the unions.  There are millions that need productive work in this great land, but are locked out.

Trade Unions – Examples of Destruction

The basic doctrine of Marxism is, “All Productivity is Evil.”  Therefore, all methods that produce product must be destroyed!   The following is taken from Communist Doctrine1 and should offer a clue and a warning of the militant nature and ultimate goals of the socialists operating in all countries today.

"Reforms within the capitalist system cannot put an end to oppression and exploitation. Capitalism must be overthrown.”

“Parliamentary activity can be used to make propaganda against the present system.”

“The struggle for socialism is part of a worldwide struggle. We campaign for solidarity with workers in other countries.”

“To achieve socialism, the most militant workers must be organized into a revolutionary socialist party to provide the political leadership and organization essential to a successful revolution.”

As I write in my book, Karl Marx could see no other purpose for the trade unions than to destroy the capitalist base of society.  There are two distinct branches of unionism.  The mandate of the first branch is to destroy the productive sector.  The mandate of the second branch of Marxism is to control all essential services and vital transport systems to render them as dysfunctional as possible.  These two branches work hand in hand in all socialist states.  Without efficient and uninterrupted transport services the productive sector cannot function properly and it will eventually die!

The difference between these two union divisions is in the power they hold over a nation.   The productive sector unions can be controlled or removed by decertification.  However, the public transport unions wield a power before which the world trembles!  A handful of these union employees hold the power to bring any society or nation to its knees.

All socialist countries suffer very poor economic development by crippling their productive sectors through unionization.  Marx and Engles could see no difference between communism and socialism.  The terms were used interchangeably by them.

As the socialist state deteriorates, all the people must eventually become more and more dependent on the state for everything in life. That is the ultimate goal of the Socialist State.  Today, Canada is a totally unionized socialist State!  Vast areas of resource in Canada remain idle because of the power of these unions.  The productive sector is gradually weakened and taken over by Government bureaucrats. The remaining businesses must be heavily subsidized in order to survive!

Today, almost 40% of the nation’s income is used to support the civil service.  There are millions that need productive work in this great land, but are locked out by the system.

From personal experience:

The following are examples of union activity that are used to destroy productive business and industry the world over.

Example 1

Many years ago during my steam engineering days, I was called in to temporarily relieve a very ill shift engineer at the Admiral's Road Plywood Plant in Victoria BC.

As I wandered through the plant, I stopped to watch a young man and woman assembling the plywood veneer that is used to make up the layers of the ply board.  There were 3 piles of veneer board.  One pile was filler, low grade sheets with big imperfections, large knots and holes etc.  The next pile was good grade but not perfect with small tight knots and blemishes. These were to be the back of the finished ply board. The third pile was the face sheets. They were perfect sheets and by far the most valuable sheets of the three piles. That is where all the profit was. The quality of that sheet determined the grade of the product.

These young workers were very upset. They pointed out to me that union orders were to destroy as many face sheets as possible. They were ordered to break them up and use them for filler!  The shop steward was always watching and if they wanted to work, they had to follow orders or suffer the consequences.  The consequences for disobeying orders were harassment, threats and even vandalism of their cars in the parking lot.

FEAR is the motivating force of the trade unions.  These are the working conditions in all unionized plywood plants.  Many are now either struggling near bankruptcy or are already extinct.  That is why the price of plywood has risen to obscene levels. They almost have to weigh plywood out to you on a Toledo scale.  Is this what we have disintegrated to in the land of plenty??  The Union Mission is to destroy the economic base of the company!   The average worker would never willingly destroy product and profitability because it is their livelihood.  Our ruling socialists empower thugs to terrorize the work force that can control our industries.

Example 2

In 1972, my late wife and I were operating a Burger House located on the Pat Bay highway north of Victoria.  This was the highway connection from Victoria to Sidney and the BC Ferry Terminal to Vancouver.  It was a very busy place.  We required a large staff of waitresses to handle the traffic.  These young girls were paid the going rate, about $4.00 per hr.

We were the only employer locally for them.  One of our customers was hired onto the newly reformed BC ferry Corporation as a domestic. Her duties were to clean floors and other chores onboard ship.  It was no different than working in any other job requiring domestic services.  She started work under the new unionized corporation @ $16.00 per hr.  With these obscene wages, she came by our place to flaunt her pay check and wave it in front of our staff!  She was making wages that were greater than that of a registered nurse at that time.

As the entire ferry operation was now under union control, BC. Ferries crashed into bankruptcy.  This vital transport system has been bankrupt ever since that day.  It has cost residents of B.C Billions of dollars and destroyed the tourist industry on Van. Island and it has never recovered to this day!  Once again, here is proof that the entire mission of that Union was to destroy as much of the Capitalist base of the captive society that they controlled, the 400,000 people living on Vancouver Island.

Raging debates over whether to privatize the operation are plain silly.  Who really cares who nominally operates it, a Crown Corporation or Private enterprise??  THE UNIONS CONTROL IT!  It is called “Socialism.”

“Under public ownership, the public own nothing, the ruling officialdom own ALL and the people have no power!” Murray Rothbard,-Von Mises Institute.

Example 3

BC. Rail  (originally the Pacific Great Eastern Railway -PGE)

This rail line wandered from Vancouver to Quesnel.  As the interior of BC was a vast isolated area, industry had little chance to reach markets. The WAC Bennett Social Credit Government took over the bankrupt rail line and pushed it through to Prince George.  There it joined into the transcontinental CNR rail system.  This instantly connected the BC interior to huge markets in eastern Canada and to overseas markets through Prince Rupert on the west coast.  The enormous cattle ranches were now able to ship cattle to Alberta directly and efficiently to be fattened for market.  Further value was added as huge markets all over the world were opened up for interior lumber, mining and a host of other products.  Eastern Canada and the US became ready and eager markets.  The result was that the interior exploded with the new economic activity!

In 1972, the Red Army, (NDP) under their leader Premier Dave Barrett, took control of this magnificent and productive rail line.  It was immediately unionized with 7 separate unions.  Chaos resulted as the union masters carried out Karl Marx’s edict to “destroy the capitalist base” of BC’s interior industrial and farming community.  From that day forward, the interior of BC became a wasteland of ghost towns and bankrupted communities as their industries all collapsed!  It remains in ruin to this day.

We continue to waste precious time in senseless and childish debates over whether to sell it to the CNR rail system.  Once again, what difference does it make who claims to own or operate it??  THE UNIONS CONTROL IT ALL!

It’s called Socialism!
